A new VR (Virtual Reality) experience opened at the Gondola mid-station’s Yuki-no-hiroba, where the reception desk for Tsugaike WOW! is located, on 7/22 (Sat.), and is set to run until 8/31. The combination of the head-mounted display (pictured), along with the MX4D® motion seat that moves up, down, left, and right, and incorporates vibration and wind makes you feel as if you are actually flying through the sky.

After participating in the experience myself, I was incredibly surprised at how much more realistic (and fun) the experience was than what I expected. I observed parents taking photos and videos of their children sitting through the experience (pictured) as they vocalized their delight. (JPY1,000; JPY800 per person for groups of two or more)

The Kogidas attraction was also very popular today. I spoke with a father from Ishikawa Prefecture who came with his family of four on a one-day trip, and he told me, “I wanted to try this as soon as I saw it advertised on TV. I thought I could handle it easily, but it was actually pretty nerve-wracking. The mother (pictured right) added, “It was surprisingly scary. I keep my hands gripped tightly on the handlebars.”
[Hakuba Tsugike WOW!・Kogidas Attraction]

Kabedas (pictured) is another attraction where visitors climb a 9-meter-high wall. It is equipped with an auto belay system that automatically takes in the slack of the rope, so even if you slip on your way up, you can rest assured that your fall will be broken. I noticed that the children I met there came down after climbing the wall with extremely satisfied expressions on their faces.
