With the start of the Hakuba Iwatake MTB PARK, Hitotoki Downhill MTB Experience, Mountain Kart, and Horseback Riding Experience on 4/26 (Fri.), almost all activities at Hakuba Iwatake Mountain Resort are now open. (*Activities may be closed in response to bad weather.) Visitors can take advantage of the mountain bike park even if they come empty-handed, as full-suspension mountain bikes, helmets, gloves, and body protectors can be rented at SPICY, located on the south side of the gondola base station.

A ride on the popular Mountain Karts (pictured) costs JPY2,000, which includes helmet, goggle, and body protector rental. The karts are simple to control, consisting of only the steering wheel and brakes, and moving across the uneven ground at speed is even more thrilling than you might imagine! It takes about 15 minutes to ride down the 1.4-kilometer-long route from the top of the mountain to Hakuba Hitotoki-no-mori.

The sweet aroma of cookies baking at THE CITY BAKERY wafted over the busy HAKUBA MOUNTAIN HARBOR area and out as far as the Hyoga (glacier) Deck (pictured). The leaves of the beech forests and Nezuko-no-mori area around the summit were budding, and the temperature this morning was a warm 18°C at 9:30 a.m. It felt fantastic to simply sit outside on the deck.

THE CITY BAKERY is now offering a Smoked Shinshu Salmon Sandwich (pictured, sales start at 10:30 a.m., JPY1,400), featuring Shinshu Salmon raised in Hakuba, for a limited time only, until 5/ 6 (Mon.). The smoked Shinshu Salmon pairs very well with the butter-filled croissant, and I enjoyed minevwith a refreshing lemonade (JPY660).[Hakuba Iwatake・HAKUBA MOUNTAIN HARBOR]
