Cortina Adventure Land is an outdoor obstacle course facility offering challenging and fun activities in the forest. Most visitors are guests of the Hotel Green Plaza Hakuba, but other visitors are also welcome! After completing the registration process, guests learn how to use the carabiners and safety implements on the practice course (pictured, staff member in blue).

After the safety training is complete, participants can go around the course on their own without being accompanied by a staff member. Of the four courses through the pine forest, the obstacles from the start of Course 1 to the early part of Course 2 (pictured) are not high off the ground, and the difficulty level is relatively low. Even still, until I got used to it, I felt a little tense from the height. (Some people may be nervous about taking the first step.)

On Course 2, participants choose between the low stage, with its abundance of low-level obstacles, and the high stage (pictured), which tests their sense of balance and their nerve. I spoke with a father from Kanagawa Prefecture, who told me, “My two children love nature. My son is used to outdoor obstacles, but my daughter is just trying them out for the first time today.”

A mother from Niigata Prefecture (pictured) commented, “We stayed one night at the Hotel Green Plaza Hakuba to let our daughter play at Adventure Land. said a mother from Niigata Prefecture. The daughter, who completed the longest 100-meter zip-line at the end of the challenging Course 4 told me, “I’m worn out, but it was a lot of fun!”
