Spring skiing discounts are already here, with one-day tickets priced at JPY5,000 for Adults aged 18-79, JPY4,300 for Youths ages 13-17, and JPY2,600 for Children ages 6-12. After a warm, sunny weekend, it was another warm morning at the base of the resort. However, in the Alps-Daira area (pictured), a weak southwesterly wind was blowing, and wet snow was falling!

With heavy rain falling at the foot of the mountain, I overheard many people commenting how glad they were that the precipitation was falling as snow at the top. The Panorama Course (photo) and Grand Prix Course each had moderately loose surface layers composed of granular snow, topped off with around cm of new, wet snow. The new snow was a bit sticky, but I was still able to link controlled, comfortable turns.

The wet snow turned to sleet near the end of the Grand Prix Course (pictured), and then to rain as I skied down further to the Dynamic Course. On the Dynamic Course, Woody Course, and Toomi Slope, where the groomed, granular snow was moderately soft, my skis slid well and I was able to gain some good speed in typical rainy day fashion.

The Cosmo Four Lift closed yesterday due to the significant snowmelt caused by the recent warm weather, while the Milky Four, Iimori 1st Chair Lift and 6th Chair Lift are scheduled to operate until 3/26 (Sun.). The Powder Snow Course (pictured), Soft Cream Course, and Merry Land Course had moderately loose, groomed granular snow surfaces, and there were no areas where the snow cover was thin enough to cause problems or inhibit normal skiing.
