Akakura Onsen REPORT

2023.03.17210cm / Cloudy

The snow is less than usual this season, but Akakura Onsen where is famous for its heavy snowfall has still 200cm of snow. There seems to be enough snow until the last operation day on 4/2 (Sun). This morning, the ski area was in thick fog with no wind.

The groomed slopes of Panorama Course (Photo), Downhill Chuo Course and Sekimi Area were in hard corn snow condition. In Panorama Course, the lights for night skiing were turned on because of the poor visibility and people slowed down there. In Downhill Chuo Course, Yodel No.2 Quad helped us to check the direction and after that, our visibility got better in the lower part.

A snowboarder from Saitama Prefecture (Photo) said, “I check your reports sometimes. I came for my training for All Japan Kobu Championships “Akakura no Ran” held on 3/19 (Sun).” “X-Festa 2022 Series Final” will be held on 3/25 (Sat) and “Akakura Onsen Ski Area Cup Banked Slalom” will be held on 3/26 (Sun) as well.
