REPORT

It was snowing and sleeting unexpectedly all day yesterday. Today, we had an ideal day for riding with the blue sky and no winds. 5 families from Saitama Prefecture (Photo) gave me the greeting, “We always enjoy your reports! We got days off from today to 3/21 (Tue) and came to Cortina. Actually, this is our first time to come to Cortina.”

In the top area of the ski area, there was a 15cm snowfall for 24 hours yesterday. In the off-piste slope of Mt. Hieda Course 1, there was 10cm of fresh snow on the nicely soft slope and in good condition. A father from Kyoto Prefecture (Photo) said, “I always enjoy your reports!” We came to Cortina from 3/18 (Sat) to 3/21 (Tue) to celebrate my daughter’s admission to her high school. Now, my families are enjoying the breakfast buffet in Hotel Green Plaza Hakuba, so I do my training secretly.”

A couple from Kyoto Prefecture (Photo) also gave me the greeting, “We always check your reports! We are enjoying riding from 3/17 (Fri) to today. Yesterday, the sleet made our clothes so wet, but the weather was fine on the day before yesterday and today. Today is our last riding day this season.” The nicely firm groomed slopes of Mt. Hieda Rinkan, Itadaira and Ikenota were getting slushy as time passed.

Today is the last opening day of Rabbit Course. This morning, the upper part was firm and the lower part was slushy and in corn snow condition. One of the patrol staff said, “Thanks to the snowfall yesterday, the snow condition got better. No.5 Pair will be closed on 3/17 (Fri), No.3 Quad and No.6 Pair will be closed today. From tomorrow, the spring discount will be applied on the lift ticket prices.”
