In Akakura Onsen Ski Area, there is still enough snow which seems to remain until the last operation day on 4/2 (Sun). A father from a family from Yamanashi Prefecture (Second from the left on photo) said, “I have seen your reports of Snownavi. My son (Left on Photo) will participate in a competition of snowboard cross held in Kagura, so we came for his training today.”
[Sekimi]
“Spring Operation” started on 3/22 (Wed). Now, 5 lifts of Kumado No.1 Quad, Kumado No.4 Triple, Yodel No.1 Triple, Yodel No.4 Pair, Yodel No.5 Triple and 12 courses except for Rabbit Course and Ginrei are open. Today, we had a warm sunny day.
[Downhill Chuo Course]
The groomed slope of Sekimi (1st Photo) was slushy and in corn snow condition from the early morning. After that, each slope was getting melted more and more, so the groomed slopes of Panorama Course (Photo), Downhill Chuo Course (2nd Photo), Family Area (4th Photo) were slushy when I skied into them.
[Panorama Course]
I saw no bushes and ground exposed in the slopes where I skied. By the way, On the last operation day of the ski area on 4/2 (Sun), “The 6th All Japan Carving Technical Championships” (As known as “Aka Tech”) will be held in Utopia Course. The free shuttle bus service is also available until the last operation day.
