It’s that wonderful time during the season when you can enjoy fun turns on corn snow in the morning and admire the cherry blossoms in the afternoon. On this lovely day with clear blue skies, I spoke with a family from Toyama Prefecture (pictured), who told me, “We love your site. We come to Tsugaike two to three times a month to ski. Our oldest son (pictured, right) is a member of a ski team in Uozu.”
[Han-no-ki Slope]

The Tsuga-no-mori Slope (pictured) had a moderately firm, groomed granular snow surface that started to loosen up shortly after the resort’s opening. I ran into a patrolman who said they were a fan of the Snownavi site and confirmed that the snow on the Tsuga-no-mori Slope has been softening up early in the day recently. They added, “The spring opening of the Tsugaike Ropeway was a big success this weekend.”

My skis slid well on the groomed, moderately soft granular snow of the Gotemba Course (pictured). There is still plenty of snow on the Tsuga-no-mori Slope, Gotemba Course, and the area alongside the Han-no-ki High-Speed Pair Lift. With the Oya-no-hara and Karamatsu courses closing along with the Tsugaike Chuo Triple and Han-no-ki No. 3 Quad on 3/30 (Thurs.), the only remaining course leading down the mountain as of 4/1 (Sat.) is the bottom half of Han-no-ki, where there are some areas with thin snow cover and exposed soil.

At the TG PARKS area alongside the Han-no-ki High-Speed Pair Lift, current elements include a wide boxe, pipe, 7m table top, 9m table top, and three 3m table tops. Also, in front of JACKY’S Kitchen, there is a “hike-up jib park area” with a 6m fat rail, 6m rail, and 4m box. The park is well maintained and each item was in good condition.
