It was snowing in Shiga Kogen on 4/8 (Sat), because of the winter pressure pattern brought by the cold front which made it raining on 4/7 (Fri). A skier from Aichi Prefecture gave me the greeting, “I always check your reports of Shiga Kogen. It changed to snow at around 10:00 p.m. last night in Oku Shiga Kogen.” I hurried to the slope (Photo) on 4/9 (Sun), but the early morning operation was cancelled because of the strong wind.

That was why I moved to No.4 Area (Photo) from the gondola with my car. In every course of No.1, No.4 and Downhill Course, the 10cm fresh snow made us excited! I heard people making shouts of joy like, “It’s amazing!! and “How good!”

By the way, there are 3 lines of bumps on the skier’s left side in No.4 Area. In FreeLINEPark (Photo) where there are 22 items located in No.6 Area, “PHOTO&JAM SESSION” is held. One of the staff of Oku Shiga Kogen Hotel said, “It is so cold as if the winter comes back. At our hotel, you can take our public bath even if you don’t stay (JPY600 with a towel), so please warm you body. We are looking forward to seeing you.”

When experts showed high jumps at the kicker or hip, people on the lift of No.6 Pair made a shouts. A mother and her daughter from Nagano said, “We are enjoying this event!” I met a couple from Saitama who I met in Nozawa Onsen on 4/8 (Sat) as well and they said, “We meet again! We don’t actually join this event, but it is exciting!” On 4/16 (Sun), “Ooku Subero-kai” will be held!

*Furthermore, “Okushiga Kogen Ski Area Thanks-giving Festival” will be held from 5/4 (Thu) to 5/7 (Sun). The 1 day ticket for Okushiga Kogen will be JPY3,000 for an adult (Over 15 y/o) and JPY1,500 for a child under 13 y/o!
