This morning I spoke with a father from Aichi Prefecture (pictured), who told me, “I come and stay at the Hotel Green Plaza Hakuba with my family every year at the end of the year. The kids seemed to be really satisfied with the renewed Shinshu Premium Buffet. Also, the newly renovated sauna (*for men only) was very pleasant with the scent of Japanese Hinoki cypress!” The sauna in the women’s public bathing area has also been remodeled as a rock salt sauna.

Early in the morning the temperature dropped down to -3℃, but the sunshine quickly pushed the temperature up as the beautiful, sunny day progressed. The Ikenota Slope (pictured) had a roughly groomed, hard-packed wet snow surface that was easy to ski, while the groomed wet snow surface on the Hiedayama Forest Course was moderately firm and similarly good conditions. The ungroomed Hiedayama 1 and Itadaira courses had hard-packed bumps and tracks.

The large parking lot in front of the Hotel Green Plaza Hakuba was 90% full, both for overnight guests (*on the right side of the picture) and day-trippers (*on the left side of the picture), by 10:00 a.m. Around 9:30, the base of the Ikenota Slope was crowded with people waiting in line for the No. 10 Pair Lift and the No. 2 Quad, as well as people waiting at the ticket counter, people going to and from the hotel, and more.

I spoke with the father of a family from Tokyo (pictured, foreground, far right), who told me, “I love Snownavi!
