Steering wheel equipped ”Snow Racers” (pictured left), and “Snow Drives” (pictured right) with seats and handles attached to a short ski are just some of the fun items available at Hakuba Tsugaike SNOW WOW! Snow Drives can be used on all resort runs, while Snow Racers are allowed in the beginner areas (i.e., the Oya-no-hara, Karamatsu, and Kane-no-naru-oka slopes).

The popular summer season attraction Amidas (pictured) is also open in winter. This morning Amidas looked even more inviting than usual covered in fresh, new snow. As far as the ski resort, there were powder snow conditions across the entire mountain due to last night’s heavy snowfall! I was greeted on the slopes by two people from Saitama Prefecture (pictured), who told me, “We love your site! Yesterday we snowboarded at Cortina and Hakunori, and today we’re here at Tsugaike. I can’t believe it snowed this much… it’s amazing!” The moderately soft, groomed powder snow surface of the Maruyama Slope was covered with about 20cm of fresh snow.

The upper portion of the resort had more than 60 cm of fresh snow! There was 3 to 5cm of new snow on the first and last parts of the Han-no-ki Course, while between 10 and 20cm topped the groomed middle portion, which had a moderately soft, extremely easy to ski base. The ungroomed area (pictured) in the middle of the slope had about 50 cm of high-quality fresh snow that provided an excellent floating feeling!
