Located inland at high elevation, and equipped with state-of-the-art snow machines, Ninja has more-than-ample snow coverage, and more than you might expect based on the officially announced snow depth of 65cm. Today I spoke with a season ticket holder from Gunma Prefecture, who was the first to board the NINJA lift, who told me, “I love the groomers here.”

I had a chat with a cosplayer (pictured) from a group of three visitors from Yamanashi and Nagano, who told me they were a fan of Snownavi and added, “I was invited by my friends that said the groomed runs here are great. It’s my first time, but I have to agree it is really good!” I noticed a number of advanced skiers and boarders going down deep into their turns on Drago (pictured) and Blackbeat, where the groomed wet snow surface was nice and firm.

Alekoko (pictured), which faces north, had a firmly-groomed “powdery” wet snow surface that was the best this morning. I talked briefly with another season pass holder, this time from Ueda City, who said, “I’m not a snowboarder. A season ticket holder from Ueda City said, “Sasuke was ungroomed and a bit hard, but I am looking forward to the snow coming tonight.”

Another snowboarder from Ueda (pictured) greeted me, saying, “I love Snownavi. Please spread the goodness of Ninja so that we can have more visitors come and enjoy our favorite place with us.” With a low-pressure system passing through along the southern coast, snow started falling around 11:30 and gained momentum around noon.
