REPORT

It was a clear morning with a pleasant breeze blowing from the northwest. I spoke with a couple living in Hakuba Village (pictured), with the husband telling me, “We love your site. This is my wife’s first time at Hakunori, and my second.” I ran into them again as I was finishing up my report, and was told, “The groomers here are great, and there’s a nice variety of runs!”

Excellent, firmly-groomed powder snow conditions continued on the Highway Course (pictured here & third photo) and Kamoshika Course (first photo), and I was able to link controlled, comfortable turns on the ideal surfaces! The high-level skiers flying down the empty slopes after the busy three-day weekend were an impressive sight to see.

I crossed paths with a skier from Canada (pictured, second from right),who said, “I know Snownavi. Conditions are great today. I’m here with three others from Canada and Australia.” The groomed courses were all well-maintained and in good condition, as was the mogul course on the latter half of Highway.

The broad Wakaguri Central Slope (pictured) had an impressive flat finish, and both it and the Rabbit Course had well-packed powder snow surfaces similar to Highway. In other news, today, a separate contingent from Snownavi took the Alps No. 11 Pair up to the top of the mountain, and we’ll release their report tomorrow!
