The Ninja Snowscoot Games were held on 3/2 (Sat.) & 3/3 (Sun.). Today I spoke with a staff member, who told me, “A lot of people came out yesterday as well, and the rock-scissors-paper tournament we held for luxury prizes at the end of the day was very exciting. It’s a beautiful day again today.” In fact, the morning sky was blue with not so much as a cloud to be seen.

There were many people having fun on snowscoots all around the resort today. I spoke with one person from Tokyo, who said, “I came and joined my friend here to participate in this event. The slope conditions first thing in the morning were great!” Blackbeat (pictured), had a moderately firm, groomed wet snow surface with a powdery feel that my edges held well to and my skis slid smoothly across.

The fresh snow that fell from 2/29 to 3/1 remained soft on the ungroomed Alekoko course. The Drago Course (photo), which increases in width from the middle to the end of the run, had excellent powder snow conditions! It was so good that I used the NINJA lift to lap it a number of times. (*There was a medium-sized kicker on the skiers’ left side of the run.)

The Gomaruko Course (pictured), a gentle slope with a maximum slope of 8° that’s great for beginners, also had excellent powder conditions, and my skis slid well across the snow surface. By the way, Ninja will be giving away marshmallows next weekend on 3/9 (Sat.) & 3/10 (Sun.) as part of a White Day event.
