REPORT

Due to the heavy snowfall from 2/29 (Thu.) to 3/1 (Fri.) and again from 3/3 (Sun.) to 3/4 (Mon.), the official base depth has increased to 70 cm, and all trails are now skiable except for the Yuriwari, Mine-no-Hara, and Tatemizu-no-Saka detour trails! It was a calm morning with cloudy skies and mild temperatures.
[Champion Course]

The Rabbit and Champion courses (pictured) were groomed with well-pressed granular snow surfaces on which my skis slid well and I was able to enjoy some nice turns. By 10:30 a.m., the base of the Champion Course started to loosen up a bit, but on the neighboring Champion 2 Course, the snow remained firm.

I was able to repeat comfortable turns even on the Panorama and Tatemizu-no-Saka (pictured) courses, which had hard-packed, groomed granular snow surfaces. In other news, season-pass holders for any of the partner resorts (Yabuhara, Kaida Kogen Mia, Kiso Fukushima, Ontake, & Mt. Norikura) are eligible to purchase Adult 1-Day Lift Tickets to Nomugi Toge Resort for ¥2,000. (*Season passes must be presented at the time of purchase.)
[Tatemizu-no-Saka]

I ran into a group of students from Nagano’s Ina City, with one of them (pictured, second from right) telling me, “This is the second time I’ve been to Nomugi Toge and the first time for my three friends. Today we got free lift tickets through the “Yuki Maji 19” program! The food at Restaurant House Jukai is so good, we want to eat there again.” The Family Course (pictured) and Training Slope were groomed with hard, granular snow surfaces.
