REPORT

The morning started off with blue skies, but clouds gradually began to form to the west. I spoke with two visitors from Hyogo Prefecture and Hakuba Village (pictured) that were the first on the Tsuga-no-mori Slope, who told me, “We always use your site. Conditions are great for March!” Tsuga-no-mori had a moderately packed, groomed powder surface and a light dusting of 2 to 3 cm of fresh snow on top, and I enjoyed linking turns there.

The Han-no-ki Slope (pictured) had a groomed packed powder surface with a light dusting of 2 to 3 cm of fresh snow. The mother of Nakano Azumi (pictured, right), a pro from Hakuba Village, told me “We love your site! Azumi took the first run at the last COWDAY event held at 47.” The OAKLEY TG PARKS (pictured) was in excellent conditioin this morning.
[Han-no-ki Slope]

The Maruyama and Kane-no-naru-oka slopes (pictured) were also in good condition with 2 to 3 cm of light, fresh snow on top of a well-packed, groomed powder base. I had a chat with a father from Hyogo Prefecture (pictured), who remarked, “We stayed at Hotel Sunny Valley last night. My sons, who are in the second and third year of high schooll, had the day off from school, so I let my younger son ski elementary school.”
[Kane-no-naru-oka Slope]

The Wagyu Beef Bowl that got some attention in my last report is the “Marbled Wagyu Beef Bowl” made with premium beef (pictured, ¥2,500). A staff member said, “I hope international visitors and Japanese alike appreciate the quality of Japanese beef.” The beef is first grilled, then slow cooked at low temperature, before being grilled again just before serving.
