After the warm weekend, the coldness came back from 3/18 (Mon). It was snowing heavily before the open, but there was a lull of snowing at around 9:30 a.m. In Satomi Chuo (Photo), the slope was in the mixed snow condition of the nicely soft corn snow and wet snow. There was 10-15cm of fresh snow on the slope and the sticky snow made us slow down often.

2 people from Gifu and Aichi Prefecture (Photo) gave me the greeting, “We always enjoy your reports! We are so happy to have such a lot of snow even in late March. In Cortina, No.4 and No.5 lifts were closed, but it was good news that No.10 lift is open in Hakuba Norikura.” In Sky View (Photo), 20-25cm of a little heavy fresh snow was on the nicely soft bumpy slope.

In Self-responsibility Area in the south of Highway Course, we could enjoy the fluffy feeling of 25-30cm of a little heavy fresh snow. In Highway Course and Kamoshika Course, there was 15-20cm of fresh snow on the nicely firm wet groomed slopes. At around 11:00 a.m, we could see the blue sky for a while, but the sky got covered with snow clouds again.

Back to this early morning. A family from Shizuika Prefecture (Photo) said, “It was so surprising that we had this much snow in March. The fresh snow is not as heavy as we thought.” By the way, the spring ski discount season will start from tomorrow on 3/21 (Thu) until the last operation day on 3/31 (Sun).
