REPORT

“The 9th Hakuba Paradise Slalom”, the 2nd event of “NORTH ALPS SLALOM” was held from 9:15 a.m. on 3/23 (Sat) in the special course in Hill Top. In the heavy snow, a total of 244 people participated in this event for 11 categories.

After the 5 front runners of 2 patrol staff of Iwatake, Ms. Nakamura Yoko, Mr. Taguchi Katsuro and Mr. Konno Noboru, the category of “6-12 years old Femal” started. The participants competed with the better time of their 2 runs. They could see the course from outside of it as the inspection, so people ran the 1st run by drawing on the previous people.

The visibility was not good because of the thin fog and heavy snow, so people often slowed down at the 1st run. By the way, the groomed slope of South was nicely firm and in a mixed snow condition of wet and corn snow, that of East was nicely firm and wet and Sunny Valley was hard.

Ms. Sato Riko (2nd from Righ on Photo, No.63) talked to me after her 1st run, “I went off the course because the visivility was too poor. However, I had a lot of fun!” Ms. Sudo Emi (Left on Photo, No.64) also said, “It was difficult. I hope the visibility would have been better.” Iwatake is open until 3/24 (Sun) and this report is the last one this winter. Thank you for your watching and supporting our reports!
