At Tsugaike, now through Golden Week, the Ropeway (*Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, and daily from 4/26 to 5/26), Gondola, Tsuga-no-mori No. 2 Pair, and Han-no-ki High Speed Pair Lift are operating, and three runs are open: Tsuga-no-mori, the area along the Han-no-ki High-Speed Pair, and the Gotemba Course. I spoke with a father from Hamamatsu City (pictured, right), who told me, “I love your site! I came here on a day trip with my daughter who has a day off from school.”

As for restaurants, TSUGA BASE, Kitchen Tsuga-no-mori (*both open daily until 5/6), and BURGER KING (*open on Saturdays, Sundays, holidays and daily from 4/27-5/6) are open. TSUGA BASE’s, located in the Tsugaike Yokocho area, is famous for their “TSUGA Burger Potato Set” (pictured, JPY1,650). This meat for this pulled pork sandwich is braised for 10 hours and served with homemade coleslaw, and fries to complete a hearty meal.

The OAKLEY TG PARKS, formerly located on the Han-no-ki Slope’s One & Sawa Courses, has been relocated and opened in the area alongside the Han-no-ki High-Speed Pair Lift (pictured) since 4/11. Current items include a 5m rail, 7m kicker, 6m table, 4m rail, 4m box, wave, 3m table, and 4m table. There is also a hike-up park in front of Kitchen Tsuga-no-mori.

This morning, the upper portion of the ski resort was shrouded in thick fog. The three open courses were all groomed with moderately loose granular snow surfaces. I had a chat with two visitors from Matsumoto (pictured, right) and Otari Village, who told me, “We love your site! Tsugaike is our home mountain. We’re enjoying the snow park.”
