With the closing of Gondola Line-8 on 4/27 (Sat.), the only access from the bottom to the skiable areas up top is now the Goryu Telecabin. As of 4/29 (Mon., holiday), five lifts at Goryu47 are in operation: the Goryu Telecabin, Alps 1st Pair, 3rd Pair, 4th Pair, and Line-E. The five open runs are: Panorama, Grand Prix, Super, Technical, and the upper portion of Route 8.
[Grand Prix Course]
It was a hot and sunny start to the day, and the groomed Grand Prix (first photo), Panorama (pictured), Route 8 had soft granular snow surfaces right from the beginning. Some areas of exposed ground were starting to show on Grand Prix, but poles had been erected to notifty skiers to use caution, so they presented no problem. I spoke with two people from Toyama and Azumino (pictured), who told me, “We love your site! We’re Hakuba Valley season pass holders, but we always ski at Goryu47.”
[Panorama Course]
47PARKS (pictured), which was relocated to the west side of the upper portion of Route 8 on 4/27 (Sat), is now. Current elements include 2 PVC pipe rails, x 2 tube rails (pictured), a black 6m rail, a 47 square rail, and a small jump mound. A park digger commented to me, “The park is perfectly maintained today. Come check it out!”
[Upper Portion of Route 8]
Visitors were quick to turn up during this Golden Week period, and the No. 1 Parking Lot was full by 7:30 a.m., while the No. 2 Parking Lot filled up by 9:30 a.m. In other news, Goryu47 will be open until 5/6 (Mon., holiday), but this is the last edition of our reports this season. Thank you for following our reports this season, and see you next winter!
