The snow has come to Nozawa Onsen, one of the most famous areas of heavy snowfall in Nagano. When I went down the Prefectural Road 502 which was closed on 11/4 (Fri) for the public, the road was getting covered with the snow in the upper part of Rinkan Course (= Around Torogi-toge at an elevation of 1,000m) and there was 25-30cm deep snow in the upper part of Uenotaira (Photo).

The snow was falling heavily last night and it got heavier again at 7:30 a.m. this morning after a lull. The snow in Uenotaira was so fluffy and good. The amount of snow is getting more and more toward the high season and we will be able to touch the road board as known as the landmark here.

In Paradise, a lower area, there was 10-15 fresh snow. The snow was a little wetter and heavier than that of Uenotaira. After that, it stopped snowing at around 9:00 a.m. and we could see the blue sky through the breaks of clouds.

I could not stop myself from getting excited with the great scape of the1.5km long steep slopes of 39 degree slope of Challenge → Challenge Course (Left on Photo) → Schneider Course → Utopia A Course (Right on Photo). Nozawa Onsen Ski Area will be open on 11/26 (Sat), depending on the snow amount.
