Sanosaka REPORT

2024.12.1580 cm / Snowy

Sanosaka received it’s first snow on 11/7 (Thurs.), 6 days earlier than last year, and the 2024-25 winter season at Hakuba Sanosaka began thanks to the big, back-to-back weekend storms on 12/7 (Sat.) and 12/14 (Sat.). I spoke to a staff member, who mentioned, “We were able to open six days earlier than planned this season. The slope conditions are great, so we hope a lot of people come out and ski!”

From the very first day, the resort displayed high-quality grooming on three slopes—Carving, Paradise, and Paradise Downhill—which really boosted the mood. The powder snow was packed into a firm, flat surface on the Carving Slope (pictured), creating perfect conditions for smooth, speedy runs! Early in the morning, it was impressive to watch the advanced skiers and boarders executing impeccable turns run after run via the No. 6 Pair.

Both the Paradise and Paradise Downhill slopes were groomed with moderately firm powder snow surfaces. In particular, the Paradise Slope (pictured), which was groomed across its full 100m width, was absolutely delightful! All three slopes were free of any exposed bushes or bare spots, allowing for confident and smooth turns throughout.

The snow that had been falling early in the morning turned into light flurries, and by 8:30 a.m., just 30 minutes after the resort opened, blue skies began to appear overhead. The New Paradise Slope (pictured, background), which had already been groomed, is scheduled to open for skiing on 12/20 (Fri.). On the same day, 12/20 (Fri.), the No. 3 Quad and No. 5 Pair lifts will start running, making all slopes open and ready for skiing!
[Paradise]

*As of 9:15 a.m., the No. 1 parking lot was almost full, and about 80% of the No. 3 parking lot was occupied. (*There was still space available in the No. 2 parking lot.)
