The Kashimayari Ski Resort Family Park opened as planned on 12/14 (Sat.)! There I spoke with a father from Nagano’s Matsukawa Village (pictured), who told me, “We always check your site! We came for our first run of the season. Today, we plan to take it easy and ski for about half the day.” Currently, three courses are open for skiing: Kurosawa, Maruyama, and the final section of Course 1-C.

With the resort only partially open, special lift rates are being offered. The well-packed, groomed, slightly wet snow surface resembling powder on Maruyama (pictured), Kurosawa, and the final section of Course 1-C (which also features a section with seven consecutive waves) provided a smooth and enjoyable conditions for carving turns. As today is also “Kids Ski Day,” more and more families started to arrive after 9 a.m.

The Pokémon Snow Adventure now features a Monster Ball-shaped dome tent (pictured, right). Designed with the theme of a “Secret Ice Base,” the interior serves as a photo spot where Pokémon gather. A mother from Matsumoto City shared, “This is my first time bringing my kids (pictured) to Kashimayari. We just went inside the ball, and it was a lot of fun!”

In the snow tubing area, a father from Shiojiri City (pictured) commented, “This is my first time bringing my daughter to Kashimayari. The Pokémon are adorable. She’s really into Pokémon right now.” The area is equipped with a 190-meter-long snow escalator, making it easy to get back to the starting point.
