Goryu47 REPORT

2024.12.07 105cm / Snowy

It was a cold but thrilling morning! Following the second heavy snowfall of the season from yesterday through this morning, the lower section of Route 1 and Route 7 have opened, making Hakuba47 Winter Sports Park the first in Japan to achieve “fully open” status (80% or more accessible). The anticipation while waiting for Line-C to start operating (pictured) truly captured the excitement described by the tagline on the sign to the left: “The moment that lifts your spirits.”

After the first group from Line-C headed straight for the ungroomed Route 3, a second wave of skiers and snowboarders soon followed, flocking to the ungroomed Route 2 (pictured). This particular rider came in fast and close! (This morning’s photos were taken with a standard lens.) With 30 to 40cm of fluffy, fresh powder, it offered an incredible floating sensation, perfect for an exhilarating powder run!
[Route 2]

The lower section of Route 1 was covered with 20 to 30 cm of heavier fresh snow atop a groomed base, with no bushes or areas of thin snow cover in sight. Before operations began, the manager of HAKUBA COFFEE STAND (pictured) shared some exciting news: “At 4:30 p.m. today, the Hakuba Village Multipurpose Hall will host the ‘Hakuba Station Street Fest Revenge Live.’ You can enjoy a free live performance by Toshiyuki Tachikawa of DaijiMAN Brothers. We hope you’ll join us!”
[Lower Portion of Route 1]

Routes 5, 7, and the upper and lower sections of Route 8 were exceptionally smooth and easy to ski, with 1 to 3cm of fresh snow atop a groomed powder base that had just the right amount of firmness. “The chance to ride powder on mogul-free Route 3 (pictured, background) only comes early in the season. I’m savoring it while I can!” said a snowboarder who had just enjoyed the 30 to 40cm of fresh snow blanketing the gently undulating soft base of Route 3. A heartfelt thank you to everyone, including the couple visiting from Osaka, for the many warm greetings and support for Snownavi!
