This morning, I spoke with a couple from Aichi Prefecture (pictured), who shared, “We always follow your reports! We bought season passes for Happo and come skiing about once a week. The snow this season is incredible. It’s amazing to have such great snow to ski on even before Christmas!” This morning brought light, dry snow carried by a gentle northwesterly breeze, with temperatures remaining low.

There was a light layer of 20 to 30cm of fresh snow on the ungroomed area along the Kurobishi 3 Pair! Every turn sent a spray of powder swirling into the air, and in this case, in front of my lens (pictured). The snow provided excellent flotation with no bottoming out, and people dropping in couldn’t help but exclaim things like, “Amazing! This feels incredible!” I also heard a number of greetings such as, “We love Snownavi!”, “Merry Christmas!”, and “Take my picture!” as visitors enjoyed the perfect conditions.

The renowned, north-facing steep slope along the Kurobishi 3 Pair, which stands alongside Usagidaira as one of Happo’s signature area, stretches 500 meters in length with a maximum gradient of 31 degrees and an average of 27 degrees. This season, the Kurobishi 3 Pair will operate daily starting Saturday, 12/28! Additionally, the Grat Quad, Nakiyama 2 Pair, and Sakka 3Triple are also scheduled to start running on the same day.

A light layer of 3 to 5cm of fresh snow covered the soft, groomed powder along the Kurobishi Quad and the groomed sections of the Skyline Course, offering excellent skiing conditions. However, this morning, it seemed that many skiers ventured into the ungroomed areas of Kurobishi, Usagidaira, Skyline, and the upper part of Kitaone.
