To all Togari Onsen Ski Resort fans, thank you for your patience! This season, Togari opened just in time for the year-end holidays on 12/21 (Sat.), with an impressive “fully open” status (80% or more terrain accessible) status right from the first day, thanks to recent abundant snowfall. A man I met on the Rabbit 4 Lift (pictured) shared, “I always follow your reports. I’m moving to Gifu next year, so today is my last run in Nagano. The Rabbit Run is great first thing in the morning!”
[Rabbit Run]

The Rabbit Run was absolutely perfect, with around 10 cm of fresh powder on top of a soft base typical of high-quality snow. A snowboarder I spoke to after coming down the Challenge Run (pictured, center) exclaimed, “That felt amazing!” I also heard others saying, “The snow is so soft and fluffy!” and “Let’s go again!”
[Naranoki Run]

The Rinkan Run had a variety of conditions, with the early section (pictured) offering moderately soft, groomed powder snow, and the middle to later sections featuring a firmer, groomed powder surface. On the Joyama and Champion runs, the firmly packed groomed powder base provided perfect conditions for fast, dynamic turns, taking advantage of the slope’s steepness. The gentle slopes of the Naranoki and Miharashi runs had moderately soft, groomed powder snow that made for a smooth and enjoyable ride.

Around 10 a.m., the base area was alive with young groups and families. A father from one of the families I met shared, “We skied down from the Miharashi Run to the ungroomed Uma no se Run. It felt absolutely amazing! And afterward, you can take the free shuttle bus back.”
