Happy New Year! At TG PARKS, a father from Matsumoto whom I spoke to (pictured, second from right), shared, “I always check your updates! The two people on the left are friends I met at another ski resort, and today, we ran into each other here by chance. Whenever I hit the kickers, I almost always come to Tsugaike.”
[Han-no-ki Slope]

TG PARKS opened on 12/26 (Thu.) on the One Course of the Han-no-ki Slope (pictured), and currently features two 10m kickers, two boxes, a step-down angle rail, and a thick round rail. The One Course (pictured) had a well-compacted, groomed powder snow base topped with 1 to 2 cm of fresh snow, which offered excellent glide for a smooth ride.

The Tsuga-no-mori and Han-no-ki Slopes featured firm powder snow grooming from the start to the middle sections, while the lower Han-no-ki and Maruyama Slopes had moderately firm groomed bases. Each area had easy-to-ski conditions, thanks in part to the 1 to 2 cm of fresh snow on top. In other news, the Tsugaike Central Triple and Karamatsu High-Speed Pair lifts, serving the Oya-no-Hara and Karamatsu Slopes which had moderately firm, groomed wet snow surfaces, experienced wait times of around 10 minutes.

I chatted with a gentleman from China (pictured, far left), who shared, “I’ve lived in Tokyo for nine years, but I always stay in Hakuba during the winter months from December to February. My friends here arrived in Japan from Beijing yesterday. Since the Beijing Winter Olympics, the number of skiers and snowboarders in China has increased. The snow quality at ski resorts in Beijing isn’t great, but the snow in the Hakuba area is absolutely top-notch!” Afterward, they entered TSUGA POW DBD through Gate 2.
