Following consistent snowfall since my last visit, the Central Course opened on 12/21 (Sat.), the Antelope Course on 12/28 (Sat.), and the Sunshine Course (pictured) on 1/3 (Fri.), making all courses fully open! I spoke with a family from Saitama (pictured), who shared, “The crunch underfoot highlights the excellent snow quality. As technical skiing competitors, we find this resort perfect for practice.”

The Beginners Course (pictured), which is popular among families with young children, featured well-compacted, groomed powder snow, allowing smooth gliding despite its gentle slope (max 8°, average 7°). The groomed Sunshine Course (first photo), another beginner option with a steeper gradient (max 22°, average 13°), offered tightly packed powder snow, making it perfect for a thrilling, speed-filled run.

The “Yoshimi Ota SAJ National Demonstrator Special Lesson” and First Tracks event began at 7:30 a.m. this morning. I had a chat with a skier from Chiba (pictured) who participated in the lesson, and commented, “I was able to ski so smoothly and comfortably!” The Diving Course (pictured), with its firm, groomed powder surface, also provided very sharp and enjoyable skiing conditions.

Despite it being a weekend, there were no lines at any of the lifts, making for a laid back experience, with the freedom to choose from all six open courses. I personally enjoyed the Central Course and rode the No. 3 Pair Lift multiple times. In other news, the “8th Annual Takamine Tech Selection – KING OF SNOW” event will be held on 1/26 (Sun.).
