The three-day weekend began today, 1/11 (Sat.), and with the 9:00 start of the Kitaone 3 Pair, HAPPO PARKS (pictured) officially opened for the season! Shortly after, the HAPPO PARKS OPENING DAY event was held at 10 a.m. (free to join), with introductions of the HACHI CREW members and guest riders. Participants were also treated to Red Bull during the event.

Thanks to the strongest cold wave of the season so far, all the separation nets were completely buried in snow early yesterday (!), but as you can see, everything was beautifully prepared and ready for this morning (kudos to the crew for their hard work). The lineup of features, from top to bottom, includes: a Goofy Bank, Multi Kicker, Knoll, 8m Kicker, Multi, Regular Bank, 8m Kicker, Volcano, Hip, and Wave. The sight of riders hitting the Volcano (pictured) and sending up spectacular plumes of snow left a lasting impression.

The well-packed powder snow on the groomed runs within the park provided excellent glide, making it easy to approach the 8m kicker (pictured). For those not interested in hitting the features, simply enjoying the groomed slopes within the park is perfectly fine—it’s an inviting space for everyone. With the combination of the long weekend and clear skies, the park grew increasingly lively as the day went on.

This morning, the groomers were all in excellent shape, with firm powder snow surfaces that offered an incredibly satisfying experience. I spoke with a group of three skiers from Hyogo and Kyoto (pictured), who told me, “We always follow your updates! It took us seven hours to get to Happo, and we’ll be skiing here throughout the three-day weekend.” A heartfelt thank you to everyone who stopped to say hello!
