Today on 12/9 (Fri), Ichinose Family (Photo) and Mt. Yakebitai was open after the opening of Mt. Yokote on 11/9 (Wed) and Kumanoyu on 12/3 (Sat)! Each ski area is still not connected as the high season, but more and more ski slopes are open day by day. In the cold morning that was -6 degrees, the piste crawlers were grooming the slopes for the open in Ichinose Family.

Comfortable sounds hit my ears from my foot on the fresh snow and the clear sky and beautiful scape jumped into my eyes. 3 people from Yamanouchi-machi Town (Photo) talked, “We are happy to come on this opening day! The snow is so fine.” The lower part of Main Area of Ichinose Family is a relatively gentle slope, but my skis ran well and the edges worked well there.

2 people I met on the lift (Photo) talked to me, “We come snowboading from Nagano City to enjoy the first opening day of Mt. Yakebitai Ski Area. This is also our first time to ride this season, so we start slowly today.” A couple from Nara Pref. also said, “We thought the snow would be much worse because it is artificial snow, however, it is such good snow. The course is long enough!”
