Goryu47 REPORT

2025.01.13370 cm / Snowy

As the saying goes, “The early bird catches the worm,” and with the busy long weekend in January and the upcoming February holiday weekends (2/8 to 11 and 2/22 to 24), starting early is key! At the Toomi Slope, sunrise operation takes place starting at 7 a.m. on weekends and holidays from January through March, while night skiing runs daily from 6 p.m. until 3/30 (Sun.), with special discount coupons available. Freshly groomed slopes are ready for you to enjoy not only during early morning operation but also before night skiing, offering pristine conditions for your first runs!

The dense, dry snowfall eased around 7 a.m., with the eastern sky beginning to brighten slightly. At the Toomi Slope (pictured), the upper section featured firmly groomed powder snow, while the mid to lower sections offered moderately firm grooming. The 10 cm top layer of fresh, fluffy new snow provided a wonderfully soft and enjoyable sensation underfoot.

With the three-day weekend in full swing, visitors arrived incredibly early, quickly filling the slopes with tracks. Despite this, the soft snow quality held up well, maintaining an enjoyable ride throughout the day. On a side note, the GORYU WAVES, which held its pre-opening along the Toomi 1st Pair lift on 1/11 (Sat.), will fully open on 1/18 (Sat.)! To celebrate, a free OPENING PHOTO SESSION event will be held on the same day.

Around 7:30 a.m., the sun briefly broke through, bathing the slopes in a vibrant red glow. I managed to snap a perfectly timed photo of a group of four who cheerfully called out saying they always follow our Snownavi updates, while riding the Toomi Sky Four Lift (pictured) against the backdrop of the sunrise. I initially planned to wrap up my report here, but with snow starting to fall heavily again, I couldn’t resist checking out the upper slopes and hopped on the Goryu Telecabin. (To be continued tomorrow.)
