REPORT

The Panorama Course (pictured) offered great conditions again today, with a moderately soft, groomed powdery wet snow base topped with a 3 to 5 cm layer of slightly moist fresh snow. The dim sky was a sign of the heavy snowfall typical of this region. As the night skiing lights turned on, I set off to ski through the gently falling snow. (*This course is the only night skiing option in the Myoko area, and is available every day until 3/16 (Sun)!)

The Yodel No. 5 Triple (580m), which provides access to the top of the ski resort, began operating at 10:15 a.m. after snow removal work took longer than expected. The ungroomed steep slopes of the Mogul Challenge Course (pictured) had 30 to 35 cm of light fresh snow. Although the underlying bumps were visible on the snow surface, I was able to enjoy a pleasant floating sensation without hitting the base.

The Alpen Course (pictured), with its moderately soft, groomed powder snow, was topped with 5 to 10 cm of light fresh snow. As I was working on my report, a snowboarder from overseas (pictured) greeted me enthusiastically with a cheerful “Good Day!” The snow quality on the upper sections of the resort was great, and if time allowed, I thought it would be nice to make another run using the Yodel No. 5 Triple.

The snow continued falling steadily throughout the day. The lively voices of children filled the air on the Yodel and Sekimi Slopes (pictured), where group ski lessons were being held. By the way, this Sunday, 1/19, is Kids Ski Day, and elementary school students can enjoy a free all-day lift ticket.
