The base depth at Nomugitoge Ski Resort has steadily increased, and on 1/16 (Thu.), the official total reached 100 cm! Furthermore, on 1/18 (Sat.), with the opening of the Expert Course, all runs are now open. Looking up at the pristine runs from the fully snow-covered base area, my desire to hit the slopes grew even more.

On the morning of 1/19 (Sun.), a light southerly wind was blowing, and the temperature was surprisingly mild for Nomugitoge, which is located in a high-altitude inland area (1,400m to 2,130m). The Rabbit Course (pictured) featured groomed wet snow with a powdery feel that my edges gripped well, and my skis ran smoothly across.

The Champion Course (pictured, 1,000m, maximum 30° slope, average 25°) had similar conditions to the Rabbit Course, with a firm snow surface that was easy to ski on. It was impressive to see advanced skiers carving sharp turns as they quickly descended. Champion Course 2 featured moderately firm, groomed moist snow with a slightly stronger feel of powder compared to the Champion Course.

As the sky gradually turned more blue, the ridge lines of Mt. Norikura and the Hotaka Mountain Range became visible to the west. The Panorama Slope, Tatemizu-no-saka (pictured), Family Slope, and Bambi Slope all featured groomed wet snow with a firm texture. From the top of the resort, I linked together Rabbit, Champion, Panorama, Tatemizul, and the Family slopes for a fun and challenging 4 km long run.
