If you’re planning to take ski lessons, now is the perfect time, with stable slope conditions and fewer crowds! For beginners and lower-level skiers, I highly recommend the Kane-no-naru-oka Slope (pictured), which offers an exceptionally wide area and efficient access via high-speed quad lifts. This morning, I spotted students attending ski lessons with the Tsugaike Ski School (pictured).

I also saw people taking snowboarding lessons and groups participating in ski training sessions. The moderately firm, flatly groomed wet snow on the Kane-no-naru-oka Slope (pictured), Oya-no-hara Slope, Karamatsu Slope, and Maruyama Slope provided ideal snow surfaces for practice. This morning featured calm, sunny weather, with clouds concentrated in the eastern sky.

Early this morning, I met a snowboarder from Ishikawa Prefecture (pictured) who shared with me, “I always follow your updates. So, this is how Snownavi captures their shots! I’m here to attend the Japan Avalanche Network training session being from 1/21 (Tue.) to 1/27 (Mon.) as part of my work.” There are various types of training sessions available, including TSUGA POW DBD and avalanche-related courses.

The groomed Tsuga-no-mori Slope and Gotemba Course offered moderately compacted, powder-like wet snow bases, while the Han-no-ki Slope (pictured) had moderately firm wet snow on the groomed terrain. I met a group of three visitors from Osaka and Aichi Prefectures (pictured) who told me, “We always read your reports! It’s our first time being photographed by a Snownavi reporter. The snow on the Han-no-ki Slope is well-packed and perfect for carving!”
