The “Bootielicious” art project is taking place on the second-floor exhibition space of Yeti (pictured), where boots are presented as a canvas for free expression. The project showcases custom-painted boots and original artwork by 10 top artists from Vancouver and Japan. A public auction for the boot art will be held on 3/29 (Sat.), with proceeds donated to POW, an organization working on climate change initiatives.

With overcast skies, a skier from Yamanashi Prefecture (pictured) shared, “I always check your reports. I’m excited that Snownavi is covering more resorts this year. Today is my wife’s birthday, so I’ll be buying a cake to take home.” The snow conditions on the groomed southern route of Usagidaira started with firm wet snow, up top, with the middle to end sections featuring hard packed wet snow.

The groomed surface along the Kurobishi Quad (pictured) was firm, with a powdery wet snow texture. The ungroomed sections along the Alpen Quad and Kurobishi 3 Pair had a firm, uneven base marked with tracks and moguls. The Skyline Course also had firmly groomed powdery wet snow, making it easy to ski.

Two skiers from Shizuoka Prefecture and Hakuba Village (pictured) commented, “We always read your reports. We’re ski buddies who met here in Hakuba. Both of us are HAKUBA VALLEY season pass holders.” By the way, the FWQ*4, which was scheduled to take place between 1/28 (Tue.) and 1/30 (Thu.), is currently happening outside the ski resort, starting today, 1/27 (Mon.), at 9:00 a.m.
