Around 7 a.m. this morning, light, dry snow was gently falling. The snow intensified around 8:00, before easing again around 8:20, as I reached Alps-Daira. The Panorama Course (pictured) was groomed with firm wet snow topped with a delicate 2 cm layer of fresh powder. The conditions were indescribably delightful, and some skiers gliding down couldn’t help but exclaim, “This feels amazing!”

As I skied down towards the base, I entered dense fog on the Dynamic Course (pictured), which persisted until the early part of the Toomi Slope. The Dynamic Course was groomed with hard, wet snow that was easy to pick up speed on, but thanks to the well-maintained flat surface, it was easy to control my speed.

By the way, as I took the No. 4 Pair (740m) to the Grand Prix Course, I encountered a dramatically different view than usual, as I caught a beautiful view of the base between a break in the clouds.. Just like the Panorama Course, the groomed wet snow surface there was firm, and topped with a light, fresh layer of snow.

The 8m and 6m kickers in the middle of the Powder Snow Course (pictured) were nicely maintained again this morning, with well-formed lips that were clearly marked. On the Powder Snow Course (pictured) and the Soft Cream Course, the well-packed wet snow surfaces were beginning to loosen up. In other news, the GORYU PARK Setsubun Gacha-Maki Tournament is set to take place on 2/2 (Sun.).
