At Shirakabako Royal Hill, the combination of artificial and natural snow has been well managed, enabling excellent slope conditions to be maintained. About 2 cm of fresh snow had accumulated across the resort since yesterday. While there was no cold wind at the base, I felt a chilly breeze during the ride on the No. 2 Quad (pictured, background), and at the top, the temperature felt even colder than it actually was.

The groomed Panorama A Course featured a hard, fast surface, while Panorama B Course (pictured) had a well-compacted, groomed wet snow base. Skis glided smoothly with these conditions, and students from the ski school were doing an excellent job of controlling their speed while skiing.

The groomed Panorama C Course (pictured) had a moderately firm powder surface topped with about 3 cm of light, fresh snow that likely blew in from yesterday’s strong winds. Both the Panorama B and C courses were lively, with many high school students creating a vibrant atmosphere. Despite the cold, they were all smiles, showing off their bright white teeth.

On the Alpine Course, the firmly groomed wet snow provided a smooth, fast surface that allowed for enjoyable high-speed skiing along the slope’s angle. Toward the end of the course, there was a mogul section on the skier’s left side (pictured). By the way, the Alpine Course, which is open for night skiing starting at 5:30 p.m., is groomed again just before the evening session, making it possible to enjoy freshly groomed slopes every evening!
