2025.01.31 170 cm / Snow Flurries

I headed to the newly opened YAKEBI COAST course at Yakebitaiyama Ski Resort, which debuted on January 11, 2025. The combination of around 30 cm of fluffy fresh snow and a soft base provided an exceptional sense of float! Plumes of powder soared high into the air and lingered for quite some time behind those dropping in (you can spot two people behind the snow plume), reflecting the cold temperatures and excellent snow quality.

The first person to hit YAKEBI COAST was a snowboarder from Osaka, who told me, “I came at the perfect time for great snow. I’m super excited!” The entrance to YAKEBI COAST (pictured) is located on the skier’s left side near the end of the Panorama Course and opens at 9:30 a.m., after safety checks. By the way, YAKEBI VALLEY and YAKEBI WALL open at 10:00 a.m., so…

After riding YAKEBI COAST, you can catch the No. 2 High-Speed Lift (about a 4-minute ride), connect to the South Course, and then take the No. 2 Gondola (about a 7-minute ride) to make it in time for the 10:00 a.m. opening of YAKEBI VALLEY and YAKEBI WALL. The snow quality is just as fantastic on these courses. A man I met on the Panorama Course said, “I work here, and today’s my day off. It feels amazing! I’m so grateful to my boss for giving me a day off on such a perfect day!”
