2025.02.01390 cm / Snow Clouds

The wind, which wasn’t noticeable at the base, was blowing relatively strongly as I exited the Telecabin at the top. A thin layer of fog was rolling in and out, and at times, gusts of wind lifted the snow into the air. As expected on a weekend, visitors arrived early, and by 9:30 a.m., the No. 1 & No. 2 parking lots on the Telecabin side were full, while the No. 3 parking lot was about 90% occupied.
[Panorama Course]

The Grand Prix Course (pictured) and Panorama Course had well-packed groomed powder bases with a light layer of 1 to 2 cm of fresh snow, allowing my edges to grip smoothly for effortless turns. On the ungroomed Technical Course and the area along the Alps 3rd Pair, 3 to 5 cm of light fresh snow covered the soft undulating base, creating excellent conditions.
[Grand Prix Course]

The firmly-packed powder on the groomed Dynamic Course (pictured) had a topping of 2 to 3 cm of light fresh snow, while the Woody Course and Toomi Slope had moderately firm groomed powder surfaces. The Toomi Slope, which hosted the sunrise skiing session, was already covered with numerous tracks, but the snow remained soft, allowing for a smooth, fast, and enjoyable ride.
[Champion Dynamic Course]

The Powder Snow Course and Soft Cream Course (pictured) had well-packed powder with about 1 cm of light fresh snow, and I enjoyed skiing at speed. Meanwhile, today, 2/1 (Sat.), DISCOVERY SPORT is hosting the 20th Annual All Japan Student Snowboard Technical Championship and the 16th Annual CSBA on SNOW FESTA Technical Meet. Tomorrow, 2/2 (Sun.), the same course will be the venue for the 32nd Annual JSBA All Japan Snowboard Technical Championship Chubu Tournament.
