REPORT

Fog thinned and thickened repeatedly across the upper area of the ski resort throughout the morning. Along the groomed Han-no-ki High-Speed Pair lift line (pictured), there was a section near the end with hard-packed, likely artificial snow, but overall, it was moderately packed powder conditions. My edges gripped well, allowing for precise and controlled turns.

At the top of the ski resort, there were moments when the sky faintly revealed a hint of blue. On the Tsuga-no-mori Slope (pictured), I enjoyed the silky sensation transmitted through my skis from the moderately soft, groomed powder. The ungroomed areas also maintained a soft snow quality, making for an easy and enjoyable ride.

The Gotemba Course (pictured) also had moderately soft, groomed powder. Skiers carving their way down exclaimed, “There are hardly any tracks yet!” and “This feels amazing!” By the way, the Tsugaike Snow Wall has been open near the Tsugaike Ropeway base station since 2/1 (Sat.).

From the mid to lower sections of the Han-no-ki Slope down to the Oya-no-hara Slope, the moderately soft, groomed powder continued all the way to the base. Two skiers from Saitama (pictured) shared, “We always check your reports! We skied the Han-no-ki Slope this morning, and the upper section felt a bit too firm for us. The mid to lower sections were softer and much easier to ski.”
