As of 8 a.m., there was still plenty of space in the Ginrei Parking Lot (with a capacity of 500 vehicles), so it seemed like it could be a good option for accessing the resort on a busy weekend. The latter part of the Ginrei No. 5 Course and Ginrei No. 2 Course (pictured) were ungroomed but featured a moderately firm base with minimal bumps or tracks and about 1 cm of slightly wet new snow, offering easy-to-ski conditions.

Although there were occasional strong gusts of wind from the northwest, the sunshine and clear sky made the day feel warm and comfortable. The Panorama Course (pictured) featured a firm, groomed wet snow base, while the northern-facing Rabbit Course and the early to middle sections of the Ginrei No. 2 Course had moderately firm powder-like wet snow grooming, providing excellent skiing conditions.

I was captivated by the advanced skiers making wide, sweeping turns on the flat and wide Panorama Course (pictured) early in the morning. There were also areas where small clumps of snow had been pressed into the snow surface by the groomers Around 9 a.m., when group ski lessons began, the atmosphere became even more vibrant.

Speaking of being captivated, I couldn’t help but be drawn to the towering Mt. Myoko (pictured) against the backdrop of a deep blue sky, not just on the slopes but even while driving to and from the resort. By the way, tomorrow, 2/16 (Sun.), is Kids’ Ski Day, where elementary school students can ride the lifts for free all day. Also, at 1:30 p.m. on the same day, a Kids’ Scavenger Hunt will take place at the Kids Snow Park on the Yodel Slope.
