Tsugaike REPORT

2025.02.28374 cm / Sunny

Since our last report on 2/25 (Tue.), the weather has been so calm and the skies so clear that it feels like the season has suddenly shifted. Early this morning I spoke with a couple from Shiga prefecture (pictured), who told me, “We always check your reports! The slopes are still firm, but with this sunshine, they should soften up and become easier to ski soon.” Once again, it was a pleasant and sunny start to the day.

After warming up on the groomed wet base snow with a powder-like feel along the Han-no-ki High-Speed Pair (pictured), I moved on to the mid-to-lower section of the Han-no-ki Slope. This area, along with the Shirakaba Slope, also had groomed wet snow with a powder-like texture, though the surfaces were firmer than along the Han-no-Ki High-Speed Pair, allowing for smooth and fast runs.

By the way, the Yuki-no-hiroba area (pictured) will host the PSJ Family Kids Free Demo Event over the next two days. More than 100 kids’ snowboards from top brands will be available for testing! Anyone can join without prior registration by following the official Instagram account. Also, the Yuki-no-Saiten “Snow Festival” will take place on the Kane-no-naru-oka Slope tomorrow at 7:30 p.m.!

The groomed section of the Tsuga-no-mori Slope (pictured) had well-compacted, slightly wet snow with a strong powder-like feel. A couple from Aichi, who skied down from Tsuga-no-mori to Gotemba, recognized me and said, “Oh, it’s Snownavi! The ungroomed areas were tricky since the softened snow from yesterday had refrozen and turned icy, but the groomers were fantastic.”
