Tsugaike REPORT

2025.03.04352 cm / Cloudy

Despite the dark sky, the abundant new snow created a stunning scene where the sea of clouds met the slopes! Thanks to yesterday’s snowfall, the groomed sections of the Tsuga-no-mori Slope (pictured) were back in great shape with moderately soft powder conditions—making me want to keep lapping the run via the Tsuga 2nd Pair Lift.

As for the ungroomed sections of Tsuga-no-mori (pictured, back left) they maintained a soft snow quality, making them surprisingly easy to ride despite their rough appearance. The groomed Gotemba Course also had the same powdery conditions as the groomed areas of Tsuga-no-Mori. Meanwhile, preparations were underway at the Tsuga-Daimon Ropeway Station for the start of early spring operations on 3/6 (Thu.).

At TG PARKS, the One Course was sectioned off for the 31st Annual All Japan Slopestyle and Big Air Snowboard Championships. The open practice session (pictured) began at 9:00 a.m., followed by the women’s qualifiers at 10:15 a.m., then the men’s qualifiers, and the finals for both men and women in the afternoon. Outside the competition course, the jib features, kickers, waves, and banked slalom elements were all well-maintained and in great condition.

The Shirakaba, Karamatsu, Oya-no-hara, and Champion slopes all had moderately-packed, slightly moist groomed snow surfaces with a powdery feel. I was greeted by a group of three people from Matsumoto riding the Maruyama No. 1 Quad (pictured), who said, “Snownavi! We always check your updates!”. The Han-no-ki Slope, Kane-no-naru-oka No. 2 Slope, and Maruyama slopes also had moderately firm, groomed powder snow, providing excellent conditions.
