It was a wonderful morning, with the crisp, refreshing air and wide-open atmosphere unique to the highlands! This morning, temperatures were quite chilly, but with no wind, it felt pretty comfortable. After the 7th and 8th Pair Lifts, which allow dogs, started running on schedule at 9:00 a.m., families with their furry companions began gathering at the Snow Dog Area around 9:30 a.m.

With 10 to 15 cm of fresh snow falling yesterday, the groomed slopes had perfect powder conditions everywhere! The Sheep course (pictured), along the 3rd Pair Lift, also had well-packed, groomed powder. I watched as three people on sleds (pictured) counted down cheerfully, before speeding down the slope together.

I spoke with a father from Aichi, who shared, “We visited Kurohime Kogen for the first time last year and had such a great time that we came again this year. There are so many fun activities, and it’s great that I can ride the lift together with my daughter (pictured) while holding her snow strider.” Meanwhile, her older brother responded with a big smile, saying, “Snowboarding is so much fun!”

On the well-packed powder snow bases of Leo and Monkey, I had fun executing turns of various sizes as I pleased. Over on the skier’s left of Monkey (pictured), a 5m kicker had been set up. A snowboarder hitting the jump shared, “It’s really easy to take off from.”
