Due to the abundant snow coverage this year, the final day of the winter season at Myoko Suginohara Ski Resort has been extended from 3/23 (Sun.) to 3/30 (Sun.), adding an extra week! The Suginohara No. 1 Pair Lift will operate until 3/16 (Sun.), the Mitahara No. 2 and No. 3 High-Speed Lifts will remain open until 3/23 (Sun.), and the Suginohara Gondola will run until 3/30 (Sun.). Additionally, from 3/24 (Mon.) to 3/30 (Sun.), the Suginohara Gondola will start operating at 8:00 a.m. each day.

This morning skies were calm and overcast, and many skiers were seen making their way from the Giant Course to the Shirakaba Course early on. The Giant Course had a firmly-packed, groomed wet snow base, while the upper half of the Shirakaba Course featured similarly firm, groomed wet snow transitioning to a firm, finely grained granular snow surface toward the end. I enjoyed a long downhill run with a view of Lake Nojiri ahead.

After making two runs via the gondola, I took the Mitahara No. 3 High-Speed Lift as it started at 9:30 a.m., and headed towards the Shakunage Course at the top of the ski resort. My skis glided smoothly on the well-packed, groomed wet snow surface of the Shakunage Course

Located at the top of the vast Panorama Slope, Sugi Park (pictured) features a total of 29 elements spread across the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd areas. The naturally undulating terrain provided the perfect opportunity for free and creative line choices. Additionally, the “SKETCHY JAM” event will be held here on 3/22 (Sat.).
