Just like last season, a group of guests and staff helped me bid farewell to the season by doing the ninja pose for my final report! A mother from Chiba (pictured, second from right) commented, “There were an exceptionally high number of sunny days this season at Ninja, so we came out often. Maybe we’ll get a season pass next year!”

And… there was still plenty of snow coverage for the resort’s final weekend! Ninja’s inland location and high base elevation of 1,380m helps preserve snow, and the accumulation of fresh snow that fell from 3/18 (Tue.) to 3/19 (Wed.) brought the base depth up to a season-high total of 140 cm as of today. With clear skies, no wind, and warm conditions, it was a perfect day for spring skiing and snowboarding!

A season pass holder I met told me, “You should have come on 3/20 (Thu., holiday)! There was over 70cm of fresh snow—it was absolutely amazing!” (Wait, that much!?) This morning, the groomed Blackbeat and Shine had well-packed corn snow bases, while Drago (pictured) and Gomarugo had somewhat soft corn snow surfaces.

Shinko (pictured) had a moderately firm, groomed surface composed of a mix of wet snow and corn snow. While conditions varied slightly depending on slope orientation, all courses were well-maintained and easy to ski. Anyway, thank you for following our Ninja resort reports this season—we truly appreciate it, and look forward to sharing more with you next season!
