REPORT

Today, 3/23 (Sun), the “X-Festa 2025 Series 5th”, the final event of a larger cross competition series, was held on the Utopia B Course (pictured)! The first round took place on 1/18 (Sat.) at Cupid Valley, the second on 2/8 (Sat.) at Zao Liza World, the third on 2/23 (Sun.) at Aizu Kogen Takatsue, and the fourth on 3/16 (Sun.) at Hakunori.

Over 60 participants of all ages took part in his final round of the series, including skiers, snowboarders, and snowscoot riders. After the pre-competition briefing, a course inspection and open practice session (pictured) were held, followed by the start of the competition at 11 a.m. Both the competition course and the adjacent Utopia Slope had soft spring corn snow conditions.

I ran into a father from Nagano City (pictured, center) who shared, “I always check your reports! My daughters joined the series midway through. Their Round 4 results at Hakunori weren’t great, so I’m hoping they can make a comeback in this final round.” The competition took place under warm spring conditions, with occasional strong southerly winds.

By the start of operations around 8:30 a.m., thick fog covered the area. The Panorama Course (pictured), Family Slope, and Kamoshika Course had slightly soft corn snow from the beginning of the day. By around 10:30 a.m., the soft, loose layer on top had thickened, making it harder for skis to glide on the groomed Sekimi Slope, Slalom Course, and Downhill Central Course.
