Yesterday, 3/30 (Sun.), marked the end of the season for the Iimori Slope, but the rest of the resort is scheduled to remain open until 5/6 (Tue., holiday). Furthermore, with this season’s abundant snow, there’s a good chance that both the 47 and Goryu sides will remain skiable all the way to the base through the end of Golden Week! This morning, partly cloudy sky was accompanied by brisk temperatures.

The cold spell that returned to the area on the night of 3/28 (Fri.) brought frost-covered trees to the mid-to-upper areas of the 47 side. The lower section of Route 8 (pictured) featured a well-packed, groomed and easy-to-ski corn snow surface. I took my time cruising through the forest course, occasionally stopping to admire glimpses of Mt. Goryu peeking through the clouds.

The lower section of Route 1 still has over 100 cm of snow, thanks to artificial snowmaking on cold days during peak season. This morning, the sunlit upper part featured soft groomed corn snow, while the shaded mid-to-lower section (pictured) had a firm groomed surface. Meanwhile, the lower section of Route 7 was closed due to avalanche risk.

Routes 5 and 6 had firm, groomed granular snow base, and a dusting of around 1cm of fresh snow was visible across both the upper and lower areas of the resort. Looking ahead, this weekend (4/5 Sat. & 4/6 Sun.), the NOVEMBER SNOWMATERIAL Demo Event and the SCOOTER Snowboard Demo Event will be held next to the gondola summit station!
