The first Saturday of April brought pleasant spring skiing weather! This morning, I ran into a group of people from Aichi (pictured), who told me, “We always check your reports! We’re members of a ski club and are having a great time out here together.” Thanks to radiative cooling, the early morning air was crisp, but with the sun shining it quickly warmed up once the lifts opened.

On the firm, groomed granular snow base of the Panorama Course (pictured), the snow surface was softening right from the start of the day, which allowed my edges to grip the snow nicely for smooth carving turns. A skier I spoke with said, “It was chilly this morning, so the groomed runs are well packed and easy to ski. Once it softens up later, I’m heading for the moguls.”

The firm, groomed corn snow bases along the Kurobishi Quad (pictured) and on the Skyline Course became slightly more moist the further down I skied. A group of 4 from Tokyo (pictured) greeted me saying, “We love Snownavi—both the weather and snow today are perfect!” The areas along the Kurobishi 3 Pair lift (pictured, background) and the Alpen Quad were marked with medium to large-sized moguls.

The 25-26 OGASAKA SKI NEW MODEL SKI Demo Event (pictured) is currently underway in front of the Usagidaira Terrace, running from 4/4 (Fri.) to 4/6 (Sun.). A staff member I spoke with (pictured, foreground) told me they were a fan of Snownavi, and added, “Thanks to your help spreading the word, the event has been a huge success so far. We brought not only OGASAKA SKI but also BLASTRACK equipment. The lineup is getting a full model change next season, so don’t miss this chance to try them out!” A couple visiting from Aichi chimed in, “We always use your site. We’re OGASAKA users and came to test some new skis!”
