Due to light rain falling outside, the venue for the free HAPPO SPRING FESTIVAL was shifted to YETI (pictured). While DJ performances by the current JR Hakuba Station Master, DJ Eki-cho, and HAPPO SUMMIT MUSIC veteran DJ BACK4 livened up the atmosphere, raffle tickets were distributed starting at 10:30 a.m. as guests took their seats.

The live set by EMPTY KRAFT (pictured) began at 11:00 a.m. This unique band, formed in 2011 by dancers and musicians who met during a street session, is made up entirely of frontmen. By the end of their set, some of the attendees couldn’t help but get up and dance.

During the talk show that began at 12:00 p.m., Akito Watabe (third from left) spoke about receiving the prestigious Holmenkollen Medal, while Aiko Uemura (second from left) shared her experiences skiing abroad, and Yoshito Watabe (far left) talked about skiing with his family. This year, Noriko Fukushima (far right) also took the stage to call for support in repairing the ski jump at Hakuba Kita Elementary School.

The event wrapped up with a prize raffle featuring a wide array of great giveaways from sponsors OGASAKA SKI, MILLET, RHYTHM JAPAN, and OAKLEY. “I’m happy, but they might not be my size…” was the comment from a man from Kyoto (pictured) who won a pair of ROXY waterproof boots. After the raffle, a line quickly formed with people eager to take photos with the guest athletes.
